Description
VETMEC Needles 18GX1/4″ are provided in durable packs of 12.
18 gauge by quarter inch needles are recommended as best practice for needling sheep. Their use enables the product to be injected subcutaneously with a decreased risk of injecting into the muscle. No need to ‘tent’ the skin, which allows the administrator to inject the sheep with one hand, thus making accidental human injection less likely. The quarter-inch needles are very good for shorn sheep, or sheep with short skins. In the case of sheep in long wool, some people prefer to use a half inch needle, which can be found here.
Use Vetmec Needles 18Gx1/4″ in conjunction with a 5mL Injector, when administering Vetmec Moxiguard Long Acting Injection or other vaccines.
When using any injectable product, avoid self-injection. If self-injection occurs, seek medical advice as soon as possible. Accidental self injection may cause a persistent inflammatory response. Medical advice should be sought promptly, especially in the case of deep injections, those near a joint, or if they come up with bruising. To swab up unabsorbed product in/around the puncture area, apply gentle pressure with absorbent material such as a facial tissue.
Disposal of Vetmec Needles 18Gx1/4″
Discarded needles should be placed immediately in a designated and appropriately labelled ‘SHARPS’ container.
