Or in conjunction with a 2mL Injector when administering a range of vaccines.
How Often Should You Change The Needle?
While injecting livestock with any product, it’s important that the equipment is in good condition. Once needles get used, they start to deteriorate in the form of bending, burring and sometimes breaking, which increases the risk of injection site reactions (swelling and carcass lesions).
It is good practice to change the needle before it deteriorates. As a general rule of thumb, change it after 50 doses.

When using any injectable product, avoid self-injection. If self-injection occurs, seek medical advice as soon as possible. Accidental self injection may cause a persistent inflammatory response. Medical advice should be sought promptly, especially in the case of deep injections, those near a joint, or if they come up with bruising. To swab up unabsorbed product in/around the puncture area, apply gentle pressure with absorbent material such as a facial tissue.
Disposal of Vetmec Needles 16G x 1/2″
Discarded needles should be placed immediately in a designated and appropriately labelled ‘SHARPS’ container.
